my opinion: not quite so creepy, even though it is reversed.

august break 25

this is why I need a new camera.
it's a legacy of the fateful photography field trip wherein the underwater setting was tested... sans waterproof casing.
one little tiny spot of condensation within the lens, that will not dry out for love nor money, and has spoiled some otherwise lovely photos.
so I'm just putting it out there for God/the universe to take note of:
I'd like a new camera, please!

august break 22

I have been playing with my Kodak Duaflex, taking pictures through the viewfinder. It's a different perspective than I'm used to seeing.
I also find it mildly creepy.
What do you think?

(why yes, that is in fact my lovely, newly-painted craigslisted china cabinet!)

feeling a bit nostalgic today...
this is the town of Arbroath, in Scotland, where
we lived for two years.
I'd like to go back.

Now I sit here, curiosity unsatisfied.

august break 4

There are more than 400 forest fires burning around the province right now.
This makes for abysmal air quality, poor visibility,
and spectacular sunsets.

august break

I have come to an important conclusion these past couple of weeks.

I am only able to do one of two things at a time. I can either do the things I could blog about, or I can blog about them. It seems that I can't do both. I don't know how the 'big' bloggers do it.

So, it is with a sense of profound irony that I'm announcing that I'm going to be taking part in Susannah Conway's August Break this month. Well, and I'm planning to do kim klassen's inspiration staycation during this coming week. But aside from that, I'm going to see if I can manage to simply post a photo a day during this month. Maybe that's asking too much. I don't know. But I'm going to try.

Here goes:
